Romain Grosjean says speculation his Formula One career is set to speed up with Renault is "quite funny".
Although Bruno Senna has been named as dumped Nick Heidfeld's replacement at Spa Francorchamps, rumours insist the Eric Boullier managed Frenchman Grosjean is a contender for the seat once his GP2 title is wrapped up.
The 25 year old, whose Formula 1 career got off to an abortive start amid the Formula One Singapore 'crashgate' scandal in 2009, seemed to acknowledge at least that a ride during a Friday morning practice session is possible.
"It's quite funny to hear rumours, speculation will always be there in Formula One," said Grosjean.
"At the moment, it's not something we're thinking about. First of all, there is business to finish in GP2 then, if the opportunity presents itself later in the season, we will see."
